The
base jumper is falling at what is known as terminal velocity (approximately
120 mph). The camera follows the jumper on his downward fall. The
unique evidence presented in this clip is the fact that as he is
falling at this rate of speed, the Rod flies into the scene below
him, from about mid-screen. It travels across the screen "underneath"
the base jumper, makes a U-Turn, and then goes back in the direction
it came from. Keep in mind, the scene lasts one second.
Sol,
who is a debunker of Rods claims this is simply an insect captured
inside the camera lens shroud. This would be impossible, because
if there was an insect "inside" the lens shroud it would
not be clearly visible and in focus. It would be a transparent blob.
The camera is focused on the base jumper, so anything close to the
lens will be invisible or transparent. Sol's explanation.
Another
problem is that the Rod comes in and is traveling "downward"
at the same clip as the basejumper (120 mph), and it clearly makes
a U-Turn and goes in the direction it came in from, in focus, and
at a high velocity. "Insect in shroud eliminated." |
